CASE STUDY
HIGHLIGHTING QUILTS IN CRACKER BARREL
aligning categories with new store format
RESULTS
Increased stockholding by 40%
National roll-out program in process
When Nashville Display was tasked with bringing the Quilt category in line with Cracker Barrel’s core store format, the Design Team wanted to ensure that the iconic white picket fence was at the heart of their concept.
The project criteria were challenging:
- Redesign existing fixtures to work with the core store format and finishes
- Improve product presentation for increased customer engagement
- Increase stock capacity within a predefined footprint
- Ensure that product updates were simple to accommodate
- Keep it simple, as the budget is limited!
Taking a pragmatic approach to the development process, the Design Team created a simple metal structure to maximize stock loading, maintaining the “raw” metalwork finish used throughout the re-styled stores.
We utilized the picket fence to work double duty combining style and function. This recognized country store icon also performs the role of product dividers for quilts on display. Draping the quilts over the display increases customer engagement due to the tactile nature of the products and keeps the stock area hidden. Quilts can be changed out easily to accommodate new lines or planogram updates.
Following initial in-store testing, the increase in quilt sales was significant due to improved product presentation. Phase one roll-out of the new display included 50 stores, and the program will roll out nationally over the next year.
“Nashville Display has been a consistent, trusted, and valued partner with us over many years. They have a clear understanding of our brand and insight into our stores. They are thoughtful in offering creative solutions that meet both budget and time demands.”
